We love chore charts here at iMOM. What’s better than dividing and conquering a to-do list and having a clean, tidy house to show for it? That’s why we have charts for toddlers, tweens, and families and charts for monthly chores or daily ones. We even have chore charts for couples to help keep the peace in your marriage. But this simple chore chart is the ultimate one-stop-shop for organizing your family’s chores.

iMOM’s simple chore chart is free to print and can take your to-do list to the next level. Divide up the chores by frequency—daily, weekly, or monthly—and then assign each one to a member of the family. As the tasks get done, check the boxes and watch the month fill up. We’ve even included space on our simple chore chart to track the progress of the bigger jobs. If one of your monthly tasks is to wipe down all the baseboards, you can make a hash mark for every room that is complete. Or if you try to clean one closet out per month, use that space to write which ones you’ve done.

For moms with kids who can easily become overwhelmed, we have a chart that’s just the day of the week, lines, and checkboxes. Why overcomplicate something as simple as making the bed or putting your clothes in the hamper. Get it done. Check the box. Celebrate a win!

Whether this chore chart is for your kids or the entire family, be sure to give pats on the back when you get to the end of a week or month. Sure, the result might look like just a dust-free dresser or a counter without clutter, but what it really represents is teamwork and pride in your home. When you look at it that way, maybe the completed chart calls for a celebratory ice cream!

Need a different chore chart? Here are more you can print for free.

If you’re trying to keep your house clean and divide duties between family members, it’s safe to say not every chore needs to be done with the same frequency. Some things can be done less often, like scrubbing the floors. On the other hand, if you wait an entire month to clean the dirty dishes out of the sink, you’ll have quite the task ahead of you and probably a few bugs as well. But the things we do less frequently can easily be forgotten, which is why our monthly chore chart is super handy.

This monthly chore chart is simple to use. First, think about the household tasks that nag at you saying, “You’re gonna forget me!” Here are some suggestions: change the air filter, give the dog his flea meds, wipe down the baseboards, clean the fans and light fixtures, take out the trash. (Just kidding. We’re just checking to see if you’re still reading)

Then think of the chores that only need to be done two or three times a year like cleaning out the kids’ drawers, braving the grime under the refrigerator, or washing the windows and screens. Those don’t all need to be done in the same month. Spread them out over the year by assigning them to a specific month.

Each section of the sheet is a different month. So write your chores, circle the month, and check them off as you get them done. In January, if you know you have to switch out the batteries on your smoke detector around April, jot it down. No more awkward reminders on your phone or nagging thoughts when you see the light blinking.

We have a bunch of cute chore charts here that are simple to use. The only hard part left is figuring out which one deserves a spot on the fridge!

We had a cleaning lady for a stint, and then she quit on us. The nerve! She moved on to pursue other things, and I told my husband I think we could do the cleaning ourselves and save the money every month. He gave me a look like he knew there would be fights in our future if we didn’t decide what needed to be done and by whom. This chore chart for couples would’ve been a big help.

When you’re trying to keep the peace in your marriage, a chore chart for couples could be the solution you’re looking for. After all, kids aren’t the only ones who need a reminder to get chores done. All husbands and wives have some kind of division of labor—he empties the dishwasher and she does the laundry, he mows the lawn and she pulls weeds, he vacuums and she dusts—and the house hums when both do their share. A chore chart could be the missing piece to making that hum happen!

Maybe you’re struggling to feel like he’s contributing. Maybe he feels like he’s doing the brunt of the labor. A chore chart for couples lays it out in front of you and provides accountability. Start with a conversation about which chores you like and dislike (and which ones are going to be done exclusively by the kids). You may discover your least favorite task is something he doesn’t mind doing and vice versa. List them on the chart and give your new roles a few weeks to settle in. You might discover an imbalance and need to make some tweaks, but in no time you’ll have a clean house and fewer arguments about who does what.

We have more chore charts if you need to divide up household duties among the kids, or keep yourself on task with a chart for adults. They’re all so pretty! They’ll blend beautifully with your sparkling home!

So fresh and so clean! If that’s not how you’d describe your home, then our printable chore chart for adults is the perfect organization tool to get you on track. You might already have a chart for your kids’ chores, but adults need help keeping track of what needs to be done and when. Otherwise, the dust bunnies start hopping around and the shower scum builds. One day at a time and one task at a time—that’s how you keep the mess from becoming overwhelming.

Check out these two kinds of chore charts for adults. One divides up the chores by frequency. Some tasks have to be done daily, like putting dishes in the dishwasher or making the bed. Others can wait a few days and only be done on a weekly basis, like wiping down the sinks and mirrors or sweeping the kitchen. And then there are the monthly tasks, like changing the air filter and dusting the fan paddles. Those are the ones that are easiest to forget!

Our other chore chart for adults is divided into parts of the house. Look around and see what needs to be done in each area, jot it down and then check those boxes as you make your way from room to room. You can knock it all out in one weekend or assign part of the house to a day of the week. Monday is kitchen day, Thursday is bedroom day, and on Sundays, we put our feet up and rest!

We have chore charts for kids, too, so print one out and get the kids involved. As they see you doing your list, they’ll learn from your example and know that it takes teamwork to get a job done well. These chore charts for adults are simple, yet beautiful and would look great on your freshly polished fridge. Ooh, add that to your “weekly” list!

We have a ton more chore charts here.

There are three battles parents face when trying to get kids to do chores, but iMOM’s printable chore chart for kids can help with two out of three. The first is that your kids know what’s theirs to do. The second is tracking that the job is done. The third, and most difficult, is actually getting them to do it

We can’t come to your house and whisper to your son, “It’s time to take out the trash,” or tell your daughter, “You know, that laundry isn’t going to put itself away.” But we did create this cute printable that serves as a gentle reminder. Plus it will look cute on the fridge, right at kid height. The best part about a chore chart for kids is it takes mom nagging out of the picture. You don’t have to ask over and over if the dishwasher is emptied or the dog’s bowl is clean. Just check the chart. Then, when your kids ask for screen time, send them to the chart for the answer!

We know every family is different, so this chore chart for kids is created for you to fill in the blanks with the jobs that are appropriate for your child. You can also take a cue from our suggested chores. And before you think your child is too young to take on a task, let him or her try. There’s always a learning curve, so remember to be patient and when your kids do a job well, be sure to pile on the praise!

Start with a fresh page every week or laminate the sheet and wipe it clean, just like your countertops! If you’re looking for other tools to help manage chores around the house, here’s a family chore chart and a chore habit tracker. Your kids will love checking the boxes and you’ll love having a clean house!

“I took out the trash last time!” How often is your request for help met with that response? You’d think kids have little journals stashed away with a record of the exact date and time and photo evidence of when they last did a chore. They’re ready to present in a court of law that their siblings haven’t done it in “forEVer!” So, Mom, maybe it’s time for a family chore chart.

A family chore chart is iMOM’s solution to the arguments about what’s fair and whose job is whose. Everyone’s name is on the chart along with what tasks each person is in charge of that week. Some chores might rotate from person to person (like that pesky garbage) while others are always assigned to one person, because, you know, when you realize your daughter has a knack for streak-free mirrors, you embrace it!

Our favorite thing about the family chore chart is that it’s a reflection of the teamwork it takes to be a good family. Everyone has to do a part to keep the house up and running, whether that’s picking up toys or mowing the lawn. Every task is important and so is every person. You could even require that the whole week’s worth of chores is done for the family to earn a reward—and if that reward is enticing enough, you might see siblings actually helping each other. It’s a chore chart miracle!

Start with a fresh page every week or laminate the sheet and wipe it clean, just like the inside of your microwave. (Oops. Be sure to add that to the list.) If you’re looking for other tools to help manage chores around the house, here’s an individual chore chart for kids and a chore habit tracker. Your kids will love checking the boxes and you’ll love having a clean house!
