Get the school year off to a great start even before your kids head back to class. Hold a back to school feast in their honor. Here’s how!

1. Let them choose the menu.

Even if it’s just mac and cheese, allow them to select their favorite foods. You can plan a special treat for dessert.

2. Introduce a theme.

Choose a motivational theme for the school year and unveil it at your dinner.

3. Go fancy.

Set your table with real dishes, fun napkins, place cards, and flowers.

4. Crown them.

Young kids will think it’s great, and older kids will think it’s silly fun. Make paper crowns for your kids to wear as the honored guests.

5. Invite grandma and grandpa.

Ask your parents or in-laws to join you for your celebration.

6. Escort them into dinner.

Have your husband, or you, escort each child into dinner and to their chair.

7. Special prayer.

Say a special prayer asking God’s blessing on each of your children for the year ahead.
